Hey there,
I’m Brittany!

I’m a wife, mom to four boys, and a self-taught cook, currently living in beautiful Montecito, CA. Cooking is my passion, and it’s something I’ve developed over many years of experimentation, failure, and success. I’d love to share my journey with you—and invite you into my kitchen to create something special for your own family.

A Journey that Started in Haiti

In my early twenties, my husband Rodney and I lived in Haiti. That year, we grew a rooftop garden and learned to cook everything from scratch. We were hooked—especially after experiencing the flavor of freshly made pesto from our homegrown herbs. Cooking became a way to connect, to create, and to bring comfort. It was in Haiti that I fell in love with not just food, but also creating a space where others feel at home.

A Family Affair

Fast forward to today, I’m raising four boys who share my love for cooking (and yes, they do help out in the kitchen!). We live in Montecito, where we continue to cook with fresh, local ingredients. You’ll often find me at the local farmers market on weekends or sipping espresso at my favorite coffee shop, all while dreaming up new ways to nourish my family and those around us.

The Heart of This Moment in Thyme

I started This Moment in Thyme because I saw so many people longing for community—and I realized I could help by teaching them how to build that sense of connection through the meals they create. As a mother, I was getting asked often about my meal planning, and that led me to believe others could benefit from what I’d learned.

A few years ago, I was unexpectedly asked to step in and lead my husband’s cooking class while he was overseas. That experience made me realize I not only enjoyed teaching others, but it felt right. And so, This Moment in Thyme was born—a place where families can come together, share stories, and pass on the art of cooking.
